A. Synopsis

5 cm is an Indonesian film that adapted from novel by Donny Dhirgantoro, with the same title. This novel told about the friendship of 5 person, they are Genta, Zafran, Arial, Ian and Riani who had been became a friend for ten years. They had different characteristics. Genta has leadership, smart, diligent, has good self confident, ambitious of his dreams and the most believable person. Zafran is a poetic , idealis, has art skill, lover, kind, and cool. Arial has athletics body, soy sauce lovers, a nervous person when meet lady. Riani is a smart, and beautiful girl. Ian has a fat body, indomie lovers, love football especially Manchester United, and very late to get graduation. And there is one more person, Arinda (Dinda) is Arials sister, she is a pretty girl.
One day, they feel bored with their friendship. So they decide to hole up, no meeting and no communication in 3 month. During take a break in 3 months, many things happened that changes their live to get better. After 3 months,  they meet again, and celebrate it with do the journey of dreams and defensively for hoist flag in the highest top in java, top of Sumeru mount, Mahameru, on 17th of august. A journey with defensively that make them more and more loves Indonesia. This journey is the journey of heart , heart to love friendship and to love this country. all of difficulty can they handle, because they have dreams, that hang up 5 cm in front of their forehead.

• Sad ( when they though Ian died, and when Genta express his love to Riani, but actually, Riani loves Zafran)

We can see the social culture from people in railway station its showed the living of Jakarta’s people.
The resident in the foothill of  Semeru mount and the others climber are very friendly and kind.
